Couple of years back, amapiano came in to chance out the real and known sound of Durban; Gqom.
Since the coming of amapiano, many Gqom artistes, producers and Dj’s have left the sound which Durban is for to identify with the trending genre.
However, some artistes like Mr Thela still has his love for Gqom still in tact as he has just shared the official tracklist of “Make Cape Town Great Again 2.0,” a collaborative project with his friend Mshayi. He also revealed the images of the album merch.
The South African respected gqom singer shared both the album tracklist and merch on his Instagram page just about a week ago or even less. Fans have shown great interest for both the album and it’s merch, although the artiste is yet to reveal the release date of the Gqom album.
The tracklist clearly indicated that Mr Thela and Mshayi shall be working with some other srtistes like Xola Toto, Rvks, Senzo Afrika, Bravo Le Roux, T-Man, Langa Jajula, Peace, and Rhass.
“Make Cape Town Great Again 2.0 Album” is filled with 25 songs in all. Not surprising. Gqom singers are noted for filling up on the album. Apparently Mr Thela and Mshayi have cooked up a wonderful feast.
From the reactions of fans on the post, it is clear we can not wait listen to a new and renewed sound of Gqom.
Mr Thela actually did not reveal the date of release for the album and it’s merch so we will keep our eyes open.
