Simisola Ogunleye best known by her stage name as Simi, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and sound engineer. Simi is known for her unique and melodious style of singing. Early Childhood and Career
Simi is the last born in a family of four. In an interview, she revealed that her parents separated when she was 9 years old. In the same interview, she also revealed that she was a girl who enjoys rough, noisy activities traditionally associating with boys. Her place of elementary studies is not known but she had her secondary education at Stars International College, a school in Ikorodu, Lagos State. She later enrolled in Covenant University where she came out with a degree in Mass Communication.
At a very tender age, she started showing her aspiration of becoming a star, she grew up dancing and singing as a member of her local church choir. She wrote her first song at age 10. Her professional music career started as a gospel singer in 2008 when she released her first debut studio album Ogaju, which consisted of a variety of songs such as “IyaTemi” and “Ara Ile”. The album was produced entirely by Samklef.
Simi started being famous when she released another single titled Tiff in 2014, a song that was nominated for Best Alternative Song at The Headies 2015. She then signed a record deal with X3M Music in 2014. Four years back, she dropped an E.P featuring Falz, named Chemistry, and later in September 2017 she shared another tune, a solo Sophomore album project titled “Simisola” which was actually a national hit songs, it really made it the Top 5 Billboard World Music charts same year. The project also was spotted at number 1 not just at the Apple Music but also on iTunes chart, the same song was at the position for about straight three weeks. She shared her 3rd solo album named Omo Charlie Champagne, Volume 1, the album was dropped maybe for her thirty-first birthday as they shared same date April 19th, 2019. Simi started up her own music Studio Brat last year June 2019. This could be as a result of her contract expiration in May 2019, with her former label X3M Music that prompted her to start hers.
Marriage
Simi is married to a singer, Adekunle Gold. The duo got married in a private wedding in Lagos, in January 2019. Simi and Adekunle Gold reportedly dated for five years before getting married.

In 2015, Simi won numerous awards was nominated and also for herself, worthy of note are; Most Promising Act to Watch, Most Promising Act of The Year, Video Awards Music Video of The Year, etc. In 2017 she also won the award of the Best Collabo of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Best Recording of the Year, etc. Simi has continued to win awards of honour even as we speak.
