Hlengiwe Mhlaba Biography
The female South Africa singer was given birth to in KwaMashu located in Kwazulul-Natal. She from her young age began singing and became a full christian while she was still very young.
She became popular to people who mostly attend crusades in KZN and also Swaziland, and over the years, she has gathered enough fans.
Her music career started professionally around 2013 after she got closer to Sipho Makhabane of Big Fish Music who was called Amanxusa Music Production.
She dropped her first studio album about 15 years ago and many were shocked because she did not really follow the normal steps other singers use to follow. She was known to have her own very unique sound, presentation and vocals.
That was when Hlengiwe Mhlaba was introduced to the country as the first female gospel jazz singer.
A year after dropping her album, she shared another album named Jesu uyalalela, as expected, the second album came in with more heat that the forst one. Her performances were stronger and her shows flowed with much anointing.
She in the album revealed that prayer is the key to any human troubles and she really got to the heart of her fans with her performances which are filled with praise and worship.
Two years after, in 2007, she dropped another album, Blessings (izibusiso) and yea, it was another great sound. In the project she packed in worship, praise and even dance.
In that album, she worked together with some reputable gospel artistes like legendary Sipho Big Fish Makhabane and also Pastor Mthunzi Namba from Joyous Celebration, they together chorused “I will serve no foreign god” in at the middle of the track, Ps. Mthunzi Namba delivered a very touching sermon quoting some arts of the bible, and the another legend that was featured was the king of gospel Vuyo Mokoena (Lt.).
In 2009 she revealed her 5th album, this time around, another wave of worship was unlocked as she decided to personally produce the project, and the album had some tracks like; Believe, What a friend we have in Jesus, Uhambe nami and Be still, on the song the worshipper in her came through, and she really gave the song her best shot.
Till this day, she has recorded Four live DVD’s (Hlengiwe Mhlaba Live in Concert, Hlengiwe Mhlaba live at the Playhouse, Hlengiwe Mhlaba live at the Durban City Hall and Hlengiw Mhlaba Live at the Pretoria State Theatre).
In 2013 she dropped her 8th studio album named “Esandleni Somusa” which came out on the 4 November 2013. it was her second project as an independent singer after “Abba Baba” that was shared on 2nd November 2012.
